What a beautifully constructed and spectacularly documented wedding day. Everything about Forrey Films’ wedding video of Heather and Josh’s Santa Clarita wedding is perfection. What a beautiful couple, and what a beautifully told love story. Enjoy!
Part of the fun of getting married is the planning process…well, for most brides anyway. Thinking about what dress they’ll wear, how they’ll style their bridesmaids, what colours will feature in the decor and how they’ll infuse the day with elements of their love in the ceremony and reception gives many brides those feelings of fluttering butterflies. In the “old days” these ideas were formed after flicking through bridal magazines and attending other weddings. Nowadays the modern bride heads straight to her favourite blogs and online image filters like pinterest and flickr, sometimes even before raiding the stands of her local newsagent.
So the advent of online/digital wedding publications is very exciting for me (especially because I’m set to receive my first iPad!). I love a good online magazine, and even run one myself so when I started trawling online magazine “publisher” (really, “platform-er”) issuu, I found some gorgeous mags…
But my fave is Utterly Engaged. I am utterly in love. With 20…yep TWENTY back issues to drool over, you can get a whole bunch of inspiration and ideas from the gorgeously compiled and lovingly designed magazine. Keep posted, I’ll find more for you guys!
I stumbled (accidentally) across a few gorgeous cake toppers over the weekend and I’ve become a little obsessed! Ranging from the cute to the drop-dead-stunning, cake toppers are another clever way to bring your theme alive on the big day. Here are a few of my faves (click the pics to go where I sourced each from).
Rounding up our Shoes Your Style series is the awesome pair of aqua toned jewelled sandals by Carmen Steffens (via Styletread). Of course they scream beach wedding and I wasn’t going to disappoint them. With soft golds, aquas and floaty whites, this styleboard makes me think of a soft cool breeze, the lapping of waves and casual wedding guests with cocktails in hand.

I’m very excited about today’s styleboard because one of the ideas I have toyed with for my own special day is something pared back and pretty like a picnic wedding. The idea of lounging around on beautifully handmade rugs on a warm summer’s afternoon with baskets of fresh produce, locally sourced deli goods and a few bottles of sparkling wine sounds like a perfect way of celebrating your love.
So with the simple pair of rope wedges by Lipstik (via styletread), I dreamed of floaty organza decorations and vintage fabric bunting. I longed for lashings of pastel colours: blush pinks, lemon yellows and muted greens. A short wedding dress and simple hairstyling is just too perfect for this look. Enjoy!

No surprise which shoe we’re using from our five today…
When I see the floaty wedding dresses often paired with cowboy boots in rustic backyard farmland settings, something warms inside me. I don’t think I could actually pull off the cowboy boot and wedding dress look somehow, but the styleboard below does make me smile. I hope it does with you too!

Yesterday we looked at a modern take on traditional monochromatic black and white with pops of yellow.
Today we’ll take our second shoe from the collection and create a styleboard for an alternative wedding – something fun and a little rock’n’roll.
